Safety Officer Internship (Marble Hall) at Afrimat

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Diploma/Degree in Health & Safety Qualification
• Code 8/10 driver’s license
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 legislation
• Knowledge of Environmental related legislation would be advantageous
• Must be able to obtain a valid medical certificate of fitness to work in an opencast mine setting
• Reside in the Limpopo Province - Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality/ Glenover outside Lephalale

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with day-to-day SHHEQ (Safety, Health, Hygiene, Environment, and Quality) functions
• Writing of SHE reports
• Assist with Safety files, Induction, Training, Legal appointments, and competency cards
• Reporting to the Manager and Junior SHE Officer within agreed upon timeframes
• Assist with the recording, reporting, and investigation of incidents and accidents. Monitor action plans for the implementation of recommendations
• Perform periodic workplace and equipment inspections and audits (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly)
• Assist in managing waste management and recycling programs to minimize environmental impact
• Conduct toolbox talk
