Safety Representative at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Education: Grade 12 and relevant HSE certifications (e.g., SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, COMSOC or OSHA).
• Experience: Excellent knowledge of mining/construction compliance and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Proven ability to manage safety files and implement safe working procedures.
• Resilient, organized, and capable of maintaining a strong safety presence on-site
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kathu/surrounding Northern Cape areas.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Compliance & Administration: Complete and maintain comprehensive site safety files to satisfy both employer and client requirements.
• Risk Management: Conduct routine inspections, audits, and hazard identifications to prevent occupational accidents.
• Training & Communication: Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and deliver ongoing health and safety training to all site personnel.
• Incident Reporting: Track and report on key safety KPIs, conduct incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or output
