    Sales and Marketing Manager

    Role Description

    The Sales and Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding current acquisition and sales channels as well as identifying and developing new channels of business opportunities. Your innovation will be critical to continue to establish the company brand as well as building a national business development team. Looking for someone who is results-oriented, data-driven, clear thinking and always looking to long term commercial value. You will work with pioneering products and cutting-edge technology in a young and rapidly growing company, within a close-knit team to:

    • Actively source new business channels
    • Work with the team and external agencies to define the brand messaging, positioning and completive angle
    • Continue the development of loan referral/broker/intermediary networks with associated incentive structures
    • Implement marketing strategies
    • Build a successful sales and business development team

    Responsibilities

    Sales and Acquisitions

    • A primary focus for this role will be to target and secure contracts with new partners, merchants, networks, banks, or other on-line lending platforms
    • Develop effective revenue-generating sales strategies
    • Identify and develop alternative origination channels
    • Strong sales skills with the ability to independently source new business and achieve monthly origination goals
    • Recruit a new sales team responsible for sourcing, managing and implementing new business opportunities

     

    Origination/Referral agents and Brokers

    • Cultivate relationships with potential brokers and loan referral sources to build a growing new business pipeline
    • Develop new loan referral networks
    • Networking with broker and referral sources and source new business opportunities outside of current network
    • Monitor performance of agents and brokers on action plans to address shortcomings and gaps
    • Provide consistent and quality support for all referral and business partners
    • Develop and maintain a detailed contact database of opportunities and existing clients

     

    Marketing

    • Develop, deploy and monitor the effectiveness of marketing programs
    • Pro-actively identify new marketing sources in line with current industry trends
    • Managing all digital marketing campaigns (SOE, GSN, GDN and other)
    • Managing outsourced ad agency relationships
    • Managing development of all media, online and print content
    • Responsible for the development of all marketing materials

     

    Financial and Business Intelligence

    • Meeting the required monthly acquisition targets
    • Evaluate the performance and profitability of each acquisition channel
    • Prepare intelligent reporting and analysis on a routine basis

     

    Client and broker interaction

    • Work closely with the underwriting team ensuring smooth and efficient customer on-boarding
    • Engage with operational team to effectively manage and improve the customer journey and broker interaction
    • Engage with our tech specialists, internal and external, to provide leanings from customer and brokers to identify ways to improve tech UI, customer experience and overall product improvement

     

    Research

    • Stay abreast of market trends and business opportunities through continuous and proactive competitor research and analysis
    • Regularly provide field-originated market intelligence and feedback regarding trends, industry needs, and customer preferences that assist in marketing and planning of initiatives to develop both new and existing accounts

     

    Other roles and responsibilities

    • Participate in trade show/industry events in order to generate additional loan referral sources

     

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years’ experience in a new business development/or sales environment, preferably in a financial institution
    • Marketing or Business Studies related tertiary qualification (Degree / Diploma) is preferred
    • Experience in assisting with the development of digital platforms and UI to improve and steer customer behaviour
    • Experience with the development of product road maps and customer journeys
    • Customer service orientation and strong sales skills
    • Results-oriented, always looking to long term commercial value
    • Leadership qualities to influence and develop your team, rather than to simply manage
    • Able to be adaptive within a constantly evolving environment and prioritizing your deliveries according to redefined “most value/simplest solution” outcomes
    • Apply yourself with a lean development mentality. Build-Measure-Learn
    • Financial literacy skills
    • An analytical and data-driven approach to determining the best way forward
    • Strong communication skills (verbal & written) in English and Afrikaans
    • Computer literacy (Intermediate Excel, Word, Office)
