    Sales Centre Manager

    Aon South Africa is recruiting a Sales Centre Manager in our Sales and Marketing division, based at our offices in Roodepoort. 

    The role of the Sales Centre Manager is to ensure the attainment of new business targets for Personal Lines, overseeing team progress to ensure that goals are met whilst ensuring optimum productivity and adherence to MOS. Manager supports this progress by providing feedback to business on sales and campaign performance.

    About the Role 

    As a Sales Centre Manager some of your key responsibilities will include: 

    Financial Excellence 

    • Being responsible for achievement of personal lines sales targets through directing the sales team to achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets 
    • Being responsible for achievement of lead to sales conversion targets

    Client Excellence

    • Being responsible for achievement of personal lines sales targets through directing the sales team to achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets 
    • Adherence to minimum operating standards ensuring delivering of Client Excellence in line with Aon Value Proposition

    Operational Excellence

    • Application of company policies and procedures to deliver varied technical and professional activities and to resolve issues that are generally similar in nature 
    • Management of recruitment to ensure Sales Centre is adequately staffed to achieve sales targets 
    • Managing adherence to MOS 
    • Reporting on crucial issues to management and suggesting solutions where necessary
    • Ensuring that proposals are correctly completed, and following up on outstanding documentation 
    • Following up on quotes already produced and not yet accepted by clients 
    • Ensuring that schemes run profitably by adhering strictly to the underwriting criteria 
    • Handling underwriting and claims queries when necessary 
    • Keeping up with market trends within the insurance industry and being aware of competitors’ products/ offerings 
    • Being responsible for resource planning of staff – work times, training rosters, etc. 
    • Monthly call and desk audits to monitor accuracy of work, quality of advice and adherence to MOS, underwriting mandate and processes 
    • Daily, weekly and monthly reports to be sent to consultants 
    • Resolving client complaints (escalate where applicable) 
    • Resolving client queries raised by consultants (escalate where applicable) 
    • Generating action plans to enhance performance and productive capacity of underperforming personnel 
    • Providing feedback to management on sales process enhancements 
    • Adherence to HR policies and procedures 
    • Effective use of data for upsell, cross sell and identification of new opportunities 
    • Achieving operational efficiencies within the business unit 
    • Ensuring regulatory compliance

    Team Excellence

    • Leading team initiatives and any new divisional or branch strategies 
    • Ongoing coaching and mentoring of consultants including regular progress meetings 
    • Collaborating with colleagues from other departments to improve efficiency and overall service delivery 
    • Performance management 
    • Offering inspiration and training of internal sales personnel on how to attain business sales objective 
    • Driving sales motivation through activations and incentives 
    • Driving a strong sales culture 
    • Driving Aon values - excellence, people, integrity and teamwork 

    Role-specific Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent 
    • A Bachelor’s degree is preferable 
    • Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act 
    • Have previous managerial experience within the Insurance Industry 
    • Sales Centre managerial experience would be an added advantage 
    • Have a minimum of 5 - 8 years’ experience within Personal Lines Insurance 
    • Have at least 5 years within the Sales environment (Short Term Insurance) 
    • Have a high work ethic and must have the ability to function effectively under pressure 
    • Be a team player, have the ability to build good relationships, support and actively participate in, and contribute to any team initiatives 
    • Have a proven track record of reaching sales targets 
    • Very good knowledge of Policy wordings 
    • Quality Control/Assurance knowledge 
    • Have the ability to conduct meetings and make presentations (both verbal and written)
