    Sales Specialist

    Job Purpose

    • Market and sell product portfolio to achieve territorial sales targets. Provide internal customer service.

    Required Learning

    • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience (BSc Honours degree or higher preferred).
    • Strong background in Point-of-care devices and field experience
    • Strong background in healthcare with good exposure to primary healthcare.
    • In-depth knowledge of Medical Device Diagnostics, In-vitro Diagnostics, Lateral Flow Technology, Dry Chemistry, Flow Cytometry and PCR is required.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in the Diagnostics (Clinical/Research/Primary Care) healthcare field
    • Existing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the healthcare field preferred.
    • Experience in strategy development, new business development and sales and marketing required.
    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Working knowledge of an ERP system
    • Valid drivers’ licence
    • Requires own vehicle
    • South African Citizenship


    Key Job Outputs

    • Achieve and exceed Sales and GP budgets within territory, relevant customer accounts and product budgets.
    • New Business Development: Account focused Marketing Strategies towards achieving and exceeding growth targets. Develop and implement tactical plans to realise new growth opportunities.
    • Implement, monitor and ensure total territorial coverage.
    • Solve customer queries and complaints.
    • Provide customers with relevant product information and quotations.
    • Continuous relationship building with all stakeholders.
    • Plan appointments and specifications for sales call
    • Visit customers according to sales and customer strategy.
    • Compulsory attendance of Sales and Strategy meetings as required.
    • Effectively following up and concluding long term high value projects.
    • Pro-active monitoring of opportunities for new business.
    • Comply with required internal processes and reporting to ultimately deliver growth and manage sales performance.
    • Comply with company quality system requirements.
    • Interactions with all stakeholders to be in line with business values and code of ethics.
    • Effective Following Up on Orders Placed
    • Proactively following up on stock orders which have been placed to ensure that the correct stock is received as required.
    • Liasing and communicating effectively with the other staff members when following up on orders which have been placed.

    Efficient Customer Service

    • Communicate queries timeously and efficiently to the Help Desk.
    • Logging and tracking customer visits on CRM
    • Adhere to ISO procedures and quality system requirements.
    • Customers must be contacted and advised of delivery period and possible delays.
    • Resolve customer queries.
    • Continuous relationship building with all stakeholders;

    Sales Administration Support

    • Assist sales staff with quotations / tenders.
    • Provide relevant staff and management with updated reports e.g. sales, leads, potentials and prospects.
    • Maximise sales effort where possible and creation of sales lead – keep sales funnel up to date.
    • Assist with special marketing projects e.g. promotions, conferences, demonstrations and exhibitions
