Summary

• This is a client-facing role responsible for owning defined workstreams and supporting the delivery of legal transformation programmes. The role combines strategy, operating model design, process improvement, legal technology analysis and change management to help corporate legal departments improve performance and deliver greater value.

Responsibilities of the role

• Support General Counsel and senior legal leadership teams in shaping legal strategy and defining future-state vision for the function
• Design and deliver target operating models, including roles, structure, governance, sourcing and service delivery approaches
• Build business cases for change, including cost, benefit, headcount, technology and risk considerations
• Baseline current-state legal operations through process mapping, performance analysis and cost assessment to identify improvement opportunities
• Develop legal technology strategies and multi-year roadmaps aligned to business and legal objectives
• Support legal technology assessments, including market scans, evaluation criteria, vendor reviews, demos and proof-of-concept activities
• Capture and translate business and legal requirements into functional and non-functional solution requirements
• Contribute to legal technology implementation across areas such as contract lifecycle management, legal front door, matter management, document management, knowledge management and AI solutions
• Create executive-ready deliverables, including presentations, analysis and data visualisations, to communicate insights and recommendations
• Plan and support stakeholder interviews, workshops and day-to-day project communications
• Support training, communications, adoption planning, user acceptance testing and post-go-live activities
• Support on delivery governance, quality, compliance and risk management processes

Experience Required

• Experience in legal department transformation, legal operations or consulting
• Experience in target operating model design and implementation, process improvement, performance baselining, or cost analysis in a legal or corporate function environment
• Experience building business cases for change, including benefits, cost and risk considerations
• Experience developing executive reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders
• Practical experience in legal technology strategy, requirements gathering, market assessment, vendor selection and implementation
• Experience across legal operations areas such as legal front door, matter management, document and knowledge management, contract lifecycle management and AI-enabled legal solutions
• Understanding of contract operations, such as commercial contracting, procurement contracting, contract remediation, case or document analysis, and escalation handling
• Strong experience preparing C-suite presentations, analysis and data visualisations
• Experience coordinating delivery across multiple workstreams in fast-paced environments
• Experience supporting stakeholder interviews, workshops, implementation and change management activities

Qualifications/Certifications required

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Business, Operations, Technology, or a related field

• Other relevant qualifications in transformation, legal operations, project delivery or process improvement
