About the role
- The Workforce Transformation Manager leads HR and workforce transformation engagements / workstreams for clients, working within multi‑disciplinary teams and a blended delivery model. The role is responsible for designing and delivering initiatives across the HR function and the broader workforce – including HRIS implementation, HR process optimisation, strategic workforce planning and analytics, reward, culture change, learning and development, and operating model and organisation design.
- Workforce Transformation in this context includes HR function optimisation as well as wider workforce strategy, analytics and operating model changes across employees, contingent workers and digitally enabled (AI/automation) ways of working.
- As a client‑facing manager, the role shapes future‑ready HR and workforce operating models, produces high‑quality deliverables and insights for senior stakeholders, and manages small project teams (typically 2–4 people). A key focus is embedding digital and AI‑enabled ways of working into HR and workforce processes to drive sustainable adoption and measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities of Role
Project and programme delivery
- Lead and manage workstreams within complex HR and workforce transformation programmes, ensuring timelines, budget, and quality standards are met, including internal risk and financial administration.
- Deliver transformation across organisational change and adoption, HR process/technology implementation, strategic workforce planning, reward and recognition, culture change, and learning and development.
- Prepare high‑quality client deliverables, including reports, presentations, and insight packs, for senior review and client steering committees.
- Own and maintain RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), status reporting, and project plans, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of progress and challenges.
Strategic design and operating model
- Lead the design and execution of innovative HR processes (for example, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent management, reward, and HR service delivery).
- Design and refine HR operating models and service delivery frameworks (such as HRBP / Centre of Excellence / Shared Services models) that enhance HR effectiveness and scalability.
- Conduct organisational and workforce diagnostics, using data and analytics to inform structure, capabilities, and role design.
Organisational design and alignment
- Partner with leadership to lead organisational design initiatives that align structures, roles, and spans of control with business strategies.
- Facilitate design workshops to define future‑state structures, capabilities, and role profiles.
- Develop implementation roadmaps covering communication, change impact assessment, placement processes, and support for affected employees.
Stakeholder management and communication
- Build strong client relationships across HR, Finance, IT, and the business; act as a trusted adviser on HR and workforce transformation.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings to gather requirements, validate designs, and drive engagement and buy‑in.
- Lead change and communication plans, including stakeholder segmentation, message frameworks, choice of communication channels, and feedback loops.
Data, insights and AI adoption
- Analyse workforce, HR, and stakeholder data to generate insights and recommendations.
- Use digital and AI‑enabled tools (for example, Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, advanced Excel) to support diagnostics, reporting, and decision‑making.
- Drive adoption of AI and digital tools in HR, ensuring they are embedded into processes and ways of working.
Leadership and people management
- Manage 2–4 team members (for example, senior associates, analysts, change and communication specialists) in a blended, geographically distributed delivery model.
- Coach and develop team members, providing feedback, support, and opportunities for growth.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organisational Development, or a related discipline.
- Advantageous:
- Master’s degree in HR, OD, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Prosci (Change Management), CIPD, project management (PMP, Prince2) or Agile.
- HCM system certifications (for example, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle).
Experience Required
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in consulting or complex corporate environments, with a clear focus on HR and workforce transformation.
Demonstrable experience in:
- HR operating model and service delivery design.
- HRIS / HCM implementation (for example, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, ServiceNow HRSD).
- Organisational design and change management.
- Strategic workforce planning and workforce analytics.
- AI adoption in HR or workforce contexts and digital ways of working.
- Experience working within multi‑disciplinary, geographically distributed teams (offshore/onshore/blended models) and multi‑country transformation programmes.
Technical skills
Strong capability in:
- Change management and adoption (using frameworks such as Prosci ADKAR, Kotter, Lewin).
- Strategic workforce planning and workforce analytics.
- HR operating model and organisation design.
- HR process design and optimisation across the end‑to‑end HR value chain.
- Use of survey and feedback tools (for example, Microsoft Forms, SurveyMonkey) for diagnostics and engagement.
Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Power BI and other data visualisation tools.
- Collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, MS Teams and SharePoint.
