JOB DESCRIPTION

Maintenance and Setup of Rotary Can Seamers and Fillers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance and setting up of:
• Angelus 40P and 50P Seamers, Vacuum Rotary Filler,
• Knowledge of Rotary FMC, JBT and HG Molenaar Cookers and 
• Coolers 
• Centrifugal pumps,
• Magnetic conveyors, elevators and lowerators, Can Runner Lines
• Vacuum pipelines and vacuum pumps, 
• Water reticulation equipment, etc.
•  Lubrication of machines and equipment
• Manufacturing and installation of parts 
• Daily condition monitoring of machines & equipment   
• Training of production operators
• Assisting operators during change-over
• Use the Maintenance Management System 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified and trade tested artisan (preferably a Fitter & Turner) with sound knowledge and experience on seamers 
• ± 3 years FMCG manufacturing experience
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of other equipment, e.g. rotary cookers, conveyors, elevators, centrifugal & other pumps, pipelines, water reticulation equipment, etc.
• Knowledge and experience of fruit canning machinery would be advantageous.
• Practical knowledge and experience of lathe work and tooling (turning,  welding (arc, argon, gas, brazing & soldering) and cutting
• Computer literacy (MS Office) advantageous
• Practical knowledge and experience of a Maintenance Management System, e.g. Pragma or DMS would be advantageous.
• Must be prepared to work overtime and shifts 
• Able to work in a team 
• Ability to work under pressure
• Problem solving abilities and fault finding during breakdowns
• Attentive to detail, innovative and quality orientated
• Knowledge of MECP would be advantageous.
• Able to function independently
