Job Description:
As Section Manager, your responsibilities will include to:

• Act as a safety leader by consistently applying Safety and Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others, to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities
• Execute weekly and monthly plans to achieve quality requirements, volume requirements, resource utilisation, equipment utilisation and financial requirements
• Loading of ore and waste blocks are done according to the week plan to ensure correct quality, volume and strip ratio
• The constant supply of the required volume and quality of iron ore to the crushers
• Assist with compiling of annual budget and ensure adherence to company policy.
• Monitor spending and allocation of expenses to ensure appropriate reporting and cash flow management.
• Manage compliance of the teams within work area with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) local requirements as a minimum level of site performance.
• Adhere to Anglo American compliance requirements and ensure compliance of teams within work area.
• Management of BEP’s – ensuring execution of BEP’s
• Support the development of, and ultimately implement, a purpose-led, high-performing culture within the teams that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity by act as a role model and actively engage as a team member in all team processes.
• Implement management processes for employee & contractor management within work area
• Develop plans to address knowledge and skill gaps in the team through development and coaching, by manage the talent pipeline and proactively conduct recruitment

This role is in the Mining department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Mining Operations

Qualifications:

• A relevant National Diploma in Mining Engineering
• Preferably a Degree in B Eng Mining / BSc Mining (An Honours Degree will be advantageous).
• Open cast blasting Certificate
• FLM / MMP will be a recommendation
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competence (Will be advantageous)
• A3 Safety Training
• Computer Literacy, MS Office. Dispatch system /SAP Literacy
• Code 08 Drivers Licence

Experience:

•  5-6 years relevant Mining operational experience in a production environment 
• Knowledge of Mining Operational process.
