Security and Operations Manager at Orion Hotels & Resorts

About the Role:

• We are seeking a dedicated Security and Operations Manager with a strong background in Security to oversee and enhance our security protocols while managing day-to-day operations which includes Cleaning and Gardening services. 
• In this role, the successful candidate will focus on integrating security measures within operational frameworks to ensure a streamlined and secure environment.  The candidate will play a crucial part in safeguarding our assets while maintaining efficient business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures to protect company assets and data.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of security measures, conducting risk assessments regularly to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices within operational processes.
• Respond to security incidents, leading investigations and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to mitigate impacts.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure compliance with security standards and operational effectiveness.
• Oversee the implementation of security training programs for employees to foster a culture of security awareness.
• Compile and present security and operational performance reports to senior management, outlining risks and suggested improvements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, adjusting processes as necessary to maintain adherence.

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in security management and operations within a corporate or organizational context.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in risk assessment and incident response.
• Knowledge of industry-standard security frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
• Proficient in developing security training and awareness programs tailored for diverse employee groups.
• People management skills
• Must live in close proximity to Parktown (within 25km's)

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Grade A or B Security Certificate (registered with PSIRA) with at least 5 years in a senior role managing staff
• Own reliable motor vehicle and driver's license essential
• OHS Certification / Firefighting / First Aid will be an advantage
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) would be an advantage.
