Requirements and Expectations

Minimum Requirements

• NQF Level 4 qualification (Senior/Grade 12 certificate or equivalent).
• Three (3) years of working experience in a security environment.
• Grade B PSIRA certificate.
• The disclosure of a valid, unexpired driver’s license will serve as an added advantage.
• A National Key Point (NKP) certificate will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of access control procedures and movement control of equipment and stores.
• Understanding of security legislation and procedures, including MISS, MPSS, and the Protection of Information Act.
• Good interpersonal, listening, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Computer literacy and report-writing skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise security operations during the commencement and execution of shifts, ensuring compliance with the Access Control Act and the Criminal Procedure Act 51 of 1977.
• Ensure adherence to departmental security policies and procedures.
• Provide administrative support and control room management functions.
• Safeguard departmental assets and facilities.
• Ensure that all incidents are recorded and reported promptly to the Chief Security Officer.
• Conduct preliminary investigations into security-related incidents occurring during the shift.
