Security Operations Center (SOC) Lead/Manager at Datacentrix

• Managed Talent Solutions client in the mining sector is looking for a Security Operations Center (SOC) Lead/Manager who will manage the responsibility to oversee the day-to-day operations and strategy of the Security Operations Center, ensuring timely detection, investigation, and response to security incidents across IT and OT environments. This will be a 12 month FTC with the possibility to extend. Must have at least 7 years relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead a team of security analysts and incident responders, providing direction and mentorship.
• Develop and maintain SOC processes, standard operating procedures, and runbooks.
• Coordinate threat intelligence and threat hunting activities for proactive risk mitigation.
• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and tuning of SOC technologies (SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, EDR, ICS monitoring tools).
• Ensure alignment with broader cybersecurity strategy and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF, industry-specific regulations).
• Collaborate with IT and OT stakeholders to address vulnerabilities and remediate incidents.
• Prepare regular SOC performance reports and executive summaries.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in SOC tools and technologies (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, OT monitoring).
• Strong knowledge of incident response frameworks and best practices (SANS, NIST), and 2+ years as lead for Incident Response Scenarios and Capabilities.
• Familiarity with ICS/SCADA security considerations, industrial protocols, and critical infrastructure protection.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, CISM) are highly valued.
