Semi-skilled Boilermaker at Tharisa

Purpose of role 

• The main purpose of this job is to install, repair and maintain boilers. Semi -Skilled Boilermaker ‘s responsibilities include casting shaping metal pieces, testing boilers to match the needs of the environment and their customers

Job Requirements
Role Context

 Technical work responsibilities:

• Marking off material
• Perform a variety of tasks
• Bending and rolling of plates
• Read and build off a drawings
• Prepare material to build a drawing
• Diagnoses and repairs minor welding defects

  Core work outputs:

• Correct work as directed
• Conduct risk assessment
• Wear applicable PPE always
• Ensure proper access control workplace
• Attend daily shift change and safety meetings
• Ensure compliance with applicable SHE policies and procedures
• Maintain stock levels of all items required for the completion of a job
• Clean up work areas, equipment, supplies and materials apply standard safety practices and procedures
• Communicate with Foreman and Supervisor to inform on maintenance activities to be performed on machinery

• Ability to tape measurements angle gages
• Proficient in English:  Read, Write and Speak

• Ability to use bender, roller and cull tine, cutting torch

Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12/N3
• Trade:  Welder/Boiler Maker
• 5-7 years' experience
