Senior Accountant at Black Pen Recruitment

Requirements: 

• Relevant Finance Degree or Diploma.
• 5 or more years of experience as an Accountant
• Proven ability in providing accurate financial reports, insights and analysis.
• Experience gained within the financial services or investment would be a bonus.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Value Added Tax and other tax legislative requirements locally, and in international jurisdictions.
• Experience with transfer pricing is advantageous.
• Sound working knowledge of accounting practices and principles, IFRS and Companies Act.
• Experience in handling tax and similar tasks related.
• Up to date with financial policies.
• Expertise in the use of spreadsheets and databases.
• Analytical and conducts work in a way that is meticulous and detail-orientated.
• Provide clear and concise communication regarding financial status and liquidity to the team.
• Able to employ critical thinking in managing account transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting transactions
• Ensure all transactions are well documented 
• Audit key documents and transaction verification
• Preparing and maintaining payments, budget forecast
• Publish financial statements in time
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings 
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments of tax and other obligations
• Compute taxes and prepare returns
• Manage balance sheet and profit/loss statements across different countries of operations
• Report on the company's financial health and liquidity to the stakeholders
• Ensuring the security of financial information 
• Reinforce financial data confidently and conduct database backups when necessary
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
