    Cashier

    Job Description

    • TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Cashier within the Trade division at Middelburg, Mpumalanga.

    Job Summary

    • This role involves managing all customer transactions accurately and efficiently. The position is responsible for processing payments, handling cash, greeting customers, and issuing correct receipts and change.
    • The successful candidate will also maintain a clean and orderly checkout area and assist with general store duties, including stocking shelves, pricing items, and conducting stock takes.

    Responsibilities and Duties 

    • Bag, box, wrap merchandise and prepare packages for shipment
    • Compute and record transactions
    • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
    • Sort, count and wrap notes and coins
    • Establish or identify prices of goods and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers or optical scanners
    • Greet customers entering establishments
    • Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
    • Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of transactions
    • Receive payment by cash or card
    • Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
    • Stock shelves and mark prices on shelves and items
    • Do stock takes

    Qualifications and Skills 

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Computer literate
    • Previous cashier experience
    • Ability to work with money
    • Ability to work with customers
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Bilingual (Afrikaans, English) (advantageous)

    Payroll Supervisor

     

    Job Summary

    • This role involves overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, managing payroll reporting and employee-related processes, and providing leadership, guidance and support to the payroll team and relevant stakeholders.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Oversee the monthly payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees
    • Process, submit and manage payments relating to EMP201 and ERA submissions
    • Ensure compliance with Department of Labour requirements, including reporting, submissions and audits
    • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, company policies and procedures
    • Prepare and present monthly payroll reports, highlighting key metrics and variances
    • Manage annual payroll reporting processes and ensure timely regulatory submissions
    • Oversee timesheet management to ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll policies
    • Oversee employee appointment and termination processes
    • Provide advice and support to employees on salary and payroll-related matters
    • Mentor and coach payroll staff to maintain departmental standards, practices and processes
    • Act as a point of contact for operational payroll queries and provide guidance to stakeholders
    • Assist with general Payroll and HR functions, including employee queries and support
    • Prepare accurate and timely reports for relevant stakeholders
    • Perform other ad hoc payroll-related duties as required by management

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field (advantageous)
    • Professional Payroll Certification (advantageous)
    • Minimum of 3 years' payroll experience with a strong understanding of payroll processes and systems
    • SAGE 300 People experience (advantageous)
    • Experience dealing with South African and Eswatini payroll and employment-related queries
    • Strong knowledge of South African and Eswatini legislation and income tax regulations
    • Proficiency in MS Office
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with integrity
    • Bilingual (Afrikaans and English) (advantageous)
    • Valid Code 08 driver's license
    • Valid passport

    Job Summary

    • Deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers
    • Assist customers with product enquiries and identify suitable solutions for their farming and animal health needs
    • Promote products and support the achievement of branch sales objectives
    • Ensure stock is correctly displayed, merchandised, and readily available for customers
    • Assist with stock ordering, stock control checks, and stock counts
    • Receive, sort, and store goods according to company procedures
    • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • A related qualification (advantageous)
    • Product knowledge of input products & Veterinary Medicine
    • General farming knowledge
    • Good sales and marketing skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Computer literate
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Valid Driver’s License (Code 08)
    • Willing to travel
