Position Function

SoluGrowth is looking for a skilled Senior Accountant with experiance in Modified Cash Basis of Accounting in both Provincial and National Departments in South Africa. Candidate with an Audit article experience preferably in the public sector i.e. served articles at the Office of the Auditor-General will be an added advantage.

This is a six (6)months Project.

Responsibilities

• Check completeness and accuracy of irregular expenditure.
• Analyst and Identify contract where expenditure exceeds contract amount and update of Commitment Register where necessary.
• Update accruals, commitments, assets and WIP register.
• Provide assistance and review expenditure breakdown allocated per infrastructure.
• Reconcile the commitment Register Budget BAS Vs Commitment Register Supporting Documentation and Confirmation of all formulas.
• Update WIP register on projects where approvals have been granted for write offs.
•  Review Annual Financial Statement and disclosure note for 2019/2020 Financial on a Modified Cash Basis.
• Review Lease Commitments.
• Assists with compilation of year end Accrual, Payable and Retention Provision schedules.
• Provide assistance with quality assurance of the disbursement expenditure and estimates on commitment register.
•  Assist with calculations and preparation for Section 42 transfers.

Experiance and Qualification

• 4 to 5 years experience in the public sector
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CA (SA) will be an added advantage
