5- 8 years in the related field of air quality management / climate change / environmental health / management.
Registered with a relevant professional body.
Code EB Driver’s Licence.
Computer Literacy: MS Office
Peace Officer Certificate from an accredited training institution.
Environmental Management Inspector certificate as issued by the Department of Forestry Fisheries and Environment.
Key Performance Areas
Administer the process of Atmospheric Emission Licensing applications to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and protection of the environment and public health.
Investigate, evaluate, review recommend on environmental impact assessment applications, specialist air quality studies and Development Management Applications and recommend mitigation measures.
Process and assess applications and to make recommendations for approval of fuel burning-equipment and open burning applications.
To enforce the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act of 2004 and City of Cape Town Air Quality Management By-law 2016 in order to give effect to legal requirements and to investigate and evaluate diverse complaints in order to maintain the objectives of the City of Cape Town’s Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP) and comply with Councils complaints policy.
