Key Performance Areas
Co-ordinates activities with specific functional areas i.e. vehicle maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting & fault finding
Carrying out repairs by stripping, cleaning, overhauling, replacing and assembling components (e.g. brake and clutch overhauls, gearboxes, engines and any other related mechanical repairs)
Testing vehicle systems, components and isolating faults
Diagnosing systems and identifying incipient and latent defects on components by visual inspection, performing functional tests, (including road testing) and investigation procedures
Checking the functionality of replacement components and executing the necessary adjustment and setting sequences
Interprets a co-ordinate specific pre-work requirements with regards to repair, planned and predictive maintenance sequences and guides the activities of personnel including apprentices
Interacting with stores and checking allocated components and materials against job cards prior to commencing with the job
