    Senior Artisan: Instrumentation (Internal/External) - Hay 13/C2

    Key Performance Areas

    • Supports the Instrumentation & Electronics Supervisor in daily operations.
    • Maintains efficient instrumentation systems across all facilities.
    • Perform instrumentation installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Instrumentation systems, machinery, and equipment.
    • Conduct inspections and tests of instrumentation systems to ensure functionality and safety.
    • Diagnose and resolve instrumentation faults and issues in a timely manner.
    • Assist in planning and executing instrumentation projects, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
    • Timeous return of completed Job Cards to Planning Office for capturing and recoveries.
    • Ensure all instrumentation work complies with local, national, and international instrumentation codes and safety regulations.
    • Promote a culture of safety within the team, conducting regular safety meetings and training.
    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and safety reports.
    • Ensure Team does BBS observations.
    • Ensure Team perform check lists for safety equipment.
    • Ensure the provisioning of an effective maintenance services.
    • Communicate with customers Internal and External.
    • Ensure minimum turnaround time for jobs done.
    • Ensure Customer Job Card Rating is done on all defect job cards.
    • Minimise non- conformances on work done.
    • Manage the instrumentation department’s budget and ensure cost-effective solutions.
    • Order and manage inventory of necessary instrumentation supplies and equipment.
    • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for equipment, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
    • Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of team members.
    • Address any disciplinary issues and provide guidance for career development.
    • Foster a positive working environment and encourage teamwork.
    • Conduct Green Area Meetings (Toolbox Talk) every morning before dispatching employees to work areas.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Matric or N6
    • Qualified Instrumentation Artisan - Trade Tested with Red Seal
    • PLC Programme (advantageous)
    • Driver’s License (Compulsory 

    Minimum Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in instrumentation & electronics operations as an artisan.
    • Experience in supervisory role
