Support policy advice on the most appropriate legislative and policy solutions for ensuring that environmental management/ ecological infrastructure is mainstreamed into Eco-DRR interventions in four District Municipalities of South Africa;
Support the engagement between SANBI and other organisations and stakeholders, with regard to environmental and Eco-DRR regulatory advice;
Support the facilitation of capacity development initiatives among officials in four Districts to incorporate biodiversity priorities and Eco-DRR considerations in their work; and
Support the compilation of a baseline assessment of existing risk management frameworks, tools and approaches for ecological and built infrastructure in four Districts.
This position requires a degree in Environmental Management, Town and Regional Planning or equivalent qualification with NQF 7.
Post-graduate qualification in Environmental Management, Town and Regional Planning or equivalent qualification at NQF 8 will be an added advantage.
This position also requires 4 years of work experience in environmental management, biodiversity municipal support, capacity building and ecological infrastructure mainstreaming.
