    Senior Clerk (Centurion)

    Description

    • We are looking for a meticulous and reliable individual to join our Debtors team as a Senior Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate processing and analysis of daily bank statements, managing debt collection processes, and providing efficient administrative support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyse, prepare, and process daily bank statements with a high level of accuracy.
    • Reconcile payments without reference numbers in the suspense account daily.
    • Prepare journals from the suspense account to various debtor accounts.
    • Create new accounts based on information from the intranet.
    • Handle all telephone and email queries from clients and representatives, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
    • Communicate with representatives to verify accurate deposit information on bank accounts.
    • Maintain accurate filing systems for documents and ensure easy access for the department.
    • Prepare monthly reports in the absence of the supervisor.
    • Ensure no financial losses occur during transactions.
    • Request refunds and verify expenses against held-back reports, ensuring the appropriate contract documentation is in place.
    • Send previous year’s bank statements to the archive after the financial year-end.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
    • 2 to 3 years of experience in an administrative or financial role, ideally related to bank statement processing or debt collection.
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers.
    • Excellent communication skills for handling client and representative inquiries.
    • Ability to work independently and handle tasks under pressure.
