    Senior Consultant Employee Relations

    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidates will be reporting to the Group Manager Organisational Design, Development and ER, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

    • Remain up to date with legislation and the industry in general. 
    • Anticipate and plan for circumstances that may influence the development and implementation of the functional plan. 
    • Provide input into the development of the business plan. 
    • Analyse business plans, develop and implement functional plans. 
    • Adhere to and ensure adherence to statutory compliance, organisational standards, policies and procedures. 
    • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organisational standards, policies and procedures within span of control and monitor implementation to ensure full compliance. 
    • Facilitate end-to-end disciplinary processes in liaison with line management and represent the employer at CCMA on assigned cases. 
    • Provide responsive and high-quality support, training and advice to all parts of the business including line managers to ensure the appropriate management of all employee relations issues including in particular change management, grievances, poor performance and disciplinary action. 
    • Facilitate and participate on the employee relations aspects of proposed changes in the organisation. 
    • Coordinate union meetings with HR and Management and follow up on items raised. 
    • Provide input into annual budget planning process and submit to line management for approval. 
    • Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals. 
    • Run data exception reports and take corrective action
    • Implement remedial actions where required. 

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree (3 years - 360 credits - NQF Level 7) in Industrial Psychology/ Human Resources/Social Sciences/ Labour Relations is essential.
    • Bachelor Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Labour Relations/LLB is recommended
    • 3 years operational experience in HR Generalist across functions is essential
    • 5 years management experience in Industrial Relations is essential
    • MS Office intermediate
    • Code B, driver’s license is essential
