Matric certificate and a (3) three-year National Diploma in Legal Interpreting Science or related equivalent qualification at NQF level 6 (360 credits) as recognized by SAQA with a minimum of two (2) years practical experience in Court Interpreting or Matric certificate and ten (10) practical experience in Court Interpreting. Proficiency in English and two or more indigenous languages will be added advantage. A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage. Candidates will be required to undergo Oral and Written Language proficiency testing.
DUTIES :
Render interpreting services in criminal court, civil court, labour, and quasi-judicial proceedings. Rendering interpreting services during consultations.
Translate legal documents and exhibits. Provide support with the reconstruction of court records. Develop terminology, coin words.
Perform specific line and administrative support functions to the Judiciary as in when required.
