Job Purpose    

• Responsible for all aspects of database administration across various platforms and database types.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Plans and manages the installation, upgrade and maintenance of software.
• Creates backup and recovery procedures.
• Keeps abreast of changing technology.
• Oversees the management of the production, development and test/training databases and the DBMS.
• Defines standards and procedures with regards to the production of databases.
• Designs and manages the data warehouse for business intelligence.
• Allocates and restores database from backups.
• Optimises database performance.
• Manages database security.
• Provides technical leadership in the database technologies and database management systems.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements    

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
• 4 Years relevant experience.
