Senior Engineering Applications Engineer at Wood

Overview / Responsibilities

• Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineering Applications Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects.

Job Objective:

Responsible for the operation of CAD/EA Systems or sub-systems, which may include but is not limited to:

• Performing the functional and program design of application systems or interfaces between systems, which shall include liaison with users in the development of user requirement specifications, testing plans and training?
• Operational design, configuration and tuning of systems for specific projects as advised by management.
• Ensuring application developments or changes are fully tested, documented and approved.
• Setting and producing operational standards and guidelines for system use.
• Monitoring system performance and assist in problem diagnosis undertaking corrective action where appropriate.
• Maintaining an up to date knowledge of technical advances in the specialist areas to assist in effective operation of the Application System Portfolio
• Liaising, as required, with third party suppliers of application software with regard to problem resolution, planned preventive maintenance, etc.
• Configure PC equipment, including printers, build servers to pre-defined specifications and load software as required.
• Creation and updating of Work Practices (WP) and Technical Work Practices (TWP).
• Responsible for the performance of assigned staff and will be required to set and agree work tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to both their manager and staff, utilising the IPS system.

Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills:

• Tertiary Diploma or Degree in Engineering or IT related skills
• Knowledge of Hexagon Products
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in software support preferably using Engineering software
