Senior Financial Accountant at AFA - Accounting and Financial Advisory

Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all financial accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and standards, and providing accurate and timely financial information to senior management. This individual will also be responsible for leading a team of financial accountants, providing guidance and training as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards, such as GAAP and IFRS
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate    financial projections
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making
• Mentor and train junior financial accountants, providing guidance and support as needed
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices, continuously improving financial accounting processes    and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, with previous experience in a management role
• Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and standards, such as GAAP and IFRS
• Proficiency in financial software systems, such as Xero, QuickBooks and Zoho
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial               information to non-finance stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
