An established financial services company seeks a Senior Financial Accountant to take complete ownership of their financial operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves detail, from managing daily cashbooks to compiling IFRS-compliant Annual Financial Statements using Draftworx. You are an independent thinker who can "hit the ground running" and manage the audit process with ease. A proactive partner to manage the entire lifecycle of the finance department, from daily processing to high-level statutory compliance.
Core Responsibilities
Full Function Management: Oversee the complete cycle—capturing records, managing AP/AR, and resolving complex bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed variance analysis that provides actual business insight.
Statutory & Compliance: Act as the internal expert for SARS matters (VAT, PAYE) and ensure all operations remain strictly compliant with IFRS.
Draftworx & AFS: Take full responsibility for compiling Annual Financial Statements using Draftworx, ensuring they are accurate and audit-ready.
Audit Lead: Manage the end-to-end annual audit process, acting as the primary liaison for external auditors.
Requirements
Experience: 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a similar full-function role.
Technical Expertise: Proven experience compiling AFS specifically using Draftworx.
Software: Proficiency in Sage Intacct (or similar cloud-based ERP) and Advanced Excel.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of South African financial laws, SARS regulations, and IFRS.
Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
Takes high levels of accountability and "ownership" of your desk.
Has a solutions-oriented mindset—if there’s a bottleneck, you fix it.
Can communicate effectively with external stakeholders and auditors.
Maintains extreme attention to detail even when performing under tight deadlines.
