Senior GIS Analyst at George Local Municipality

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• A relevant technical tertiary qualification in GIS 
• Registration with SAGC as GISc Technician or Technologist (Registration optional) Registration or eligible for registration will be an advantage 
• Computer literacy: MS Office 
• 2 - 5 years' relevant post qualifying experienced required(Experience in Arcgis Pro will be an advantage)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 

• Plan, administer and coordinate GIS projects, maintain accuracy and quality of spatial information and assist in support function to the Directorate - ensure that a corporate Spatial Information Management system is implemented, administered, and maintained 
• Analysis of spatial and non-spatial data on a basic and intermediate level providing reliable outcomes in desired format (mapping, report, charts, graphs, tables, etc.) - provide for reliable analysis results to questions asked by management that assist them in decision making, and in support of directorate projects and ensure outcomes are produced in reliable format and service delivery priorities are identified and addressed pro-actively in support of departmental strategic objectives 
• Perform tasks in prepared structures, following prescribed processes that preserve data, data integrity, quality and security to ensure accuracy of data integrated with municipal financial systems and planning operations resulting in reliable integrity of data and ensuring revenue enhancement and quality service delivery - ensure that key deliverables and critical interventions are accurately analyzed supporting the accomplishment of established organizational outcomes 
• Under the supervision of supervisor, put structures in place to champion departmental published GIS and web-based systems and assist in providing spatial solutions to ensure adequate support is provided in ensuring that key deliverables and critical interventions are accurately analysed supporting the accomplishment of established organizational outcomes 
• Integration of data into a single resource to ensure good transversal operations, improve service delivery, open and transparent information systems, and coordination with external datasets 
• Perform spatial data preparation, capturing, validation and maintenance of municipal spatial data usage to ensure accuracy of data integrated with municipal financial systems and planning operations resulting in reliable integrity of data and ensuring revenue enhancement and quality service delivery, ensuring that key deliverables and critical interventions are accurately analysed supporting the accomplishment of established organizational outcomes
