Inspect the handling, storage and transport of perishable products.
Ensure the correct application of quality management systems, BMS procedures and work instructions.
Perform administrative tasks.
Mentoring of junior staff.
Provide continuous support to Chief Inspector.
Provide technical support to Inspectors.
Assist with training of Inspectors.
Build and maintain good relations with PPECB clients.
Communicate with various clients on own specific task and outcome of decisions
Participate in the relief duty roster
Accept the responsibility of continuous self-improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance framework.
Job Requirements
A National Diploma in an Agricultural discipline with relevant work experience as a competent Inspector.
Proven competence with 90 technical credits and 45 Soft Skills credits.
Proven competence in 5 Main products of which Maize, Maize by Products, Groundnuts, Pecan Nuts and Table Grapes are compulsory.
Practical experience and/or exposure in Dried Fruit, Bitter Apricot Kernels, Vegetables inspection and container loading will be advantageous.
Thorough understanding and theoretical knowledge of the processes involved in product inspection of fresh produce, cold chain activities and food safety.
Excellent proven experience on implementation and maintenance of all regional processes and databases.
Experience as senior within the inspections, cold chain and harmonization strategy will be to the advantage of applicants.
