Senior Instructor Simulator (12 Months Fixed Contract) at Anglo American

Job Description:

• As the Senior Instructor Simulator you will be expected to provide a contribution to the efficient use of the simulators with regards to safe operation of mining equipment. The focus of the use of Simulators on Sishen Mine is safety, productivity and machine use.

In this role your responsibility will include:

• Ensuring that all operators are trained and assessed on emergency procedures and also not to get the equipment out of production for annual refresher assessments.
• Assisting with IT and software related fault-finding and problems with the simulators
• Assist in designing, developing and maintaining training material, programmes and assessments
• Conduct assessments against MQA standards and processes
• Ensure learning objectives are relevant to job requirements and adapt learning processes to accommodate all learners.
• Implement simulator needs as per Supervisor Primary Equipment Training & Supervisor Secondary Equipment Training requirements
• This role is in the Human Resources department at a Band 7 and reporting to the Supervisor Equipment.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / N3
• Relevant post grade 12 qualification (advantageous)
• Assessor/Moderator registration with MQA (advantageous)
• OD ETDP Level 4 certificate (advantageous)
• Cyber Mine Engineering Course (advantageous)
• IT Qualifications and knowledge (advantageous)

Experience:

• 2 Years previous mining training experience
• Relative equipment knowledge
• Mining equipment experience – advantageous
• Operator of mining equipment in the mine environment – advantageous

Additional Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• Medical Fitness Certificate
