Senior Instrumentation Technician at Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate.
• Trade Test Certificate: Instrumentation Mechanician/ Technician.
• N6: Electrical/Industrial/Electronics/ Instrumentation Engineering.
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.

Advantageous:

• National Diploma: Electrical/Industrial/Electronics/ Instrumentation Engineering.

Advantageous: 

• Supervisory Course

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

• 5 years practical experience in relevant trade.
• 3-year practical experience in an Automated Processing Plant.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• To ensure optimum availability and reliability of equipment in support of effective and continuous improved plant operations.
• Supervise the Calibration, repair and maintenance of control instrumentation and associated equipment to ensure operation within set standards. Perform root cause analysis to address asset performance problems and or reduce cost. Fault finding and maintenance on PLC and SCADA (hardware and software) and perform changes / modifications as required. Assist in commissioning of modifications / projects. Ensure proper documentation of changes/ modifications. Compliance on radioactive sources. Ensures that PTO are followed.
• Perform the asset care activities as required by the JDE system and procedures, including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders. Continuously evaluate the Process Control Philosophy and initiate improvement actions to achieve asset performance targets.
• Accurately and timeously report process equipment deviations to stakeholders to meet / improve equipment availability and reliability targets.
• Initiation of concepts, planning and implementation of projects to ensure continuous improvement. Ensure compliance in Projects on radioactive source
