Senior IT Support Technician at Profile Personnel

Job Description

• Our client is seeking a Senior IT Support Technician to join their team in East London. This is a senior-level technical role suited to an experienced IT professional who can work independently, take ownership of complex technical issues and provide high-level support to clients.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Windows environments, servers, networks and Microsoft infrastructure, while also contributing to infrastructure projects and mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshoot complex hardware, software, server and network issues.
• Administer and support Windows workstations and Windows Server environments.
• Manage and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot networks, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching and Wi-Fi.
• Support virtualisation environments, including Hyper-V and/or VMware.
• Provide Microsoft 365 and cloud support, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Assist with server migrations, deployments, infrastructure upgrades and network installations.
• Perform system maintenance, patching, backups and disaster recovery activities.
• Identify infrastructure improvements and contribute to technical projects.
• Provide occasional after-hours and emergency technical support.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and mentor junior technicians.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in IT Support, Systems Administration, Infrastructure or a similar role.
• Strong experience in Microsoft Windows environments and Windows Server.
• Solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Strong networking and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with server administration and IT infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Cloud Services.
• Strong hardware and software troubleshooting abilities.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, backups, vulnerabilities and security best practices.
• SQL/database support experience will be advantageous.
• Experience working on IT infrastructure installations, upgrades, migrations or improvement projects will be advantageous.
