Senior Lecturer - Department of Engineering and Technology Management (1 Post) (Re-advertisement) at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria

RESPONSIBILITIES:

It will be expected of the successful candidates to:

• Teach post-graduate modules on the programme focus areas of the GSTM;
• Supervise postgraduate Master’s and Doctoral students;
• Consistently Publish research articles in the foremost internationally accredited journals;
• Conduct research in a highly productive manner;
• Raise and manage additional funding from national and international funding agencies and industry to support the activities of the relevant GSTM research areas;
• Expand existing research programmes or initiate new research programmes;
• Perform assigned departmental duties (e.g. of an administrative nature).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Senior Lecturer

• A BEng or BSc Eng or BSc or BDietetics or BIT degree;
• A Masters’ degree in Project Management;
• A relevant PhD degree that follows on the previous qualification (In the field of Project Management;
• At least 2 articles published in DHET accredited journals or a DHET accredited book;
• At least 2 other publication outputs (peer reviewed conference paper(s) / book chapter(s) / industry recognized outputs in a commensurate field;
• Supervision / co-supervision of Master’s students to completion or proven management experience in industry.
• At least 3 years tertiary education experience or 3 years industry experience with some involvement in tertiary education.

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

• Evidence of teaching excellence to large postgraduate classes;
• Industry experience especially within the field of Project Management;
• Expertise and research experience in one or more of the specialist areas of the Project Management research group in the Department;
• Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research expertise that complement the Department’s research focus area;
• Related industry work or consulting experience;
• Candidates registered or registerable as Professional Engineer with ECSA;
• Candidates registered or registerable as Project Management Professional;
• NRF rating or have applied for one.
