    Senior Lecturer (Faculty of Humanities: Department of Politics)

    Job purpose:

    Responsible for teaching, research supervision and publishing accredited research/ journals.

    Responsibilities:

    Teaching & Learning:

    • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules and supervision.

    Research:

    • Engage in research in the specified research fields.

    Administration/Management:

    • Assist with administrative duties as determined by the HoD in consultation with the department.

    Minimum requirements

    • A PhD (NQF 10) in Politics or International Relations.
    • Discipline-based knowledge.
    • Two (2) to three (3) years’ teaching experience, including the ability to design curricula, compile study guides, and delivering lectures in both traditional and blended formats.
    • Clear evidence of research potential and research productivity.
    • Proven ability to supervise Honours and Master’s students.

    Recommendations:

    • Experience in managing tutorial and mentorship programmes for undergraduate students.
    • Administrative experience in the higher education sector.
    • Knowledge of UJ’s Learning Management System and Management of Assessment Marks System (MAMS).
