Senior Manager (Hv Cables) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Manages the key performance areas of the high voltage cables branch.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Identifies and defines the immediate,short and long term objectives/plans of the Branch.
• Directs and controls outcomes associated with the utilisation, performance and productivity of staff.
• Prepares capital and operating estimates for the Branch, and approves, controls operational and project related expenditure against the budget allocations.
• Applies electrical engineering principles to provide direction on the operations and
• maintenance of applications associated with medium and high voltage cables within the
• Metropolitan region.
• Manages the inrorduction of new high voltage cables and accessories and/or modifications, oradditions to existing circuits.
• Manages the formulation of specific contracts and tender documentation, and controls contractual obligations for the maintenance of plant.
• Disseminates strategic,functional and operational information on the immediate,short and long
• term objectives and,current developments,problems and constraints.
• Co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key
• performance and results indicators of the functionality.

Essential Requirements    

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7).
• Registered as a Professional with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 6 Years relevant experience with 5 years post registration experience.
