Job Purpose    

• Directing research and analysis of data, interpretation of economic indicators and compilation of reports and dissemination of economic planning and policy development

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Directs and controls outcomes associated with utilisation, productivity and performance of personnel within the branch.
• Controls the branch’s financial performance against its budget and outcomes.
• Managing economic intelligence outputs and processes by eThekwini Municipality under the directive of the Deputy Head Economic Development Unit (for Policy, Strategy, information and Research).
• Leading and directing economic intelligence capacity building of decision makers within the institution of the municipality.
• Leading and directs the monitoring, evaluation and impact assessments of economic programmes, projects, policies and strategies (including the City’s Economic Strategy) initiated by the City.
• Conducting economic diplomatic activities.

Essential Requirements    

• Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Economics or Development Finance or Development Studies or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 6 Years relevant experience in an Economic Development field.

Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements    

• Masters Degree (NQF Level 9) in Economics or Development Finance or Development Studies or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• 7 years relevant experience in an Economic Development field.
