Key Performance Areas:
Develop and manage appropriate systems, processes and procedures to ensure CSOS, its Board of Directors and management comply with their respective responsibilities and obligations under law, regulations and other applicable codes of conduct in relation to the Legal function.
Lead and oversee an effective and efficient functioning Legal Business Unit to ensure that the unit is well capacitated and managed to support the legal activities of the CSOS.
Ensure that innovations and intellectual property of the CSOS is protected from unlawful replication and espionage.
Participate actively in high level planning, strategizing and performance reporting meetings and providing legal inputs in order to eliminate the risk of non-compliance, lawsuits and penalties
Stakeholder Engagement and Management
Assist in leading the review of CSOS legal documents, keep track of the latest amendments in law and regulations to avoid non-compliance and provide regular up-to- date advice to management.
Co-ordinate the budgeting process and planning in the Legal Business Unit and monitor/control the unit’s budget so that the expenditure is within the approved Budget.
