    Senior Marketing Manager

    Senior Marketing Manager 

    Please note - we are looking for at least 8-10 years of management experience for this role preferably within a B2C environment! 

    This truly amazing NGO based in Cape Town seeks an experienced Consumer Marketing and Brand Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate will preferably have corporate experience, particularly in the youth and young adult consumer and brand marketing space although a level of B2B will be an advantage. 

    A heart for the NGO world is a prerequisite! The Marketing Manager will be part of the company's senior team, and will work individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team with partners and key stakeholders at a senior level both strategically and operationally. 

    Candidate must have a strong balance of skills including: marketing management, brand marketing management, and proven ability to effectively communicate with providers, government partners, social media management, community organizations, youth and family populations. High level administrative skills and grant/report writing and budget management. 

    Duties and Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute the organisation’s marketing and brand strategies and plans
    • Build positive brand awareness and positioning with consumers, funders and stakeholders
    • Oversee the marketing department
    • Plan, direct and coordinate marketing efforts from start to finish
    • Develop and spearhead the strategic and tactical execution of marketing campaigns
    • Manage all channel marketing including social media
    • Coordinate all external and internal communications
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration within the business
    • Develop and manage communication, promotion and advertising campaigns, support funding and lead generation efforts
    • Conduct customer, brand and product/services research
    • Conduct competitor research
    • Develop and manage the marketing budget
    • Organize company conferences, trade shows, and major events
    • Manage marketing-related agency providers, consultants, freelancers and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management
    • Develop and maintain relations with customers, stakeholders and funders
    • Determining and evaluate current and future market trends
    • Develop new uses for existing products/services by analyzing statistics regarding market development; acquiring and analyzing data and consulting with internal and external sources
    • Facilitate and co-ordinate company website

     Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
    • Previous marketing and brand management experience in South Africa 
    • NGO and healthcare experience is not a prerequisite though this experience will be an asset.
    • Relevant experience in a managerial post in corporate or non-profit sector (8 years) 
    • Experience in opportunity identification and resource mobilisation
    • Proven consumer marketing campaign experience
    • Working with Youth communities will be a significant advantage 
    • Strong background in strategic planning and execution
    • High competence in project and stakeholder management
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convey information to various audiences, including a range of cultures and backgrounds
    • Expertise in business requirements development, programme and project management, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and communication
    • Ability to garner trust among project team and stakeholders
    • Strong copywriting and fund application skills
    • Proven ability to manage budgets
