    Senior Payroll Officer - Edenvale

    Job Summary:

    • We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to oversee and manage the payroll function for our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling payroll processes, using Sage 300 software, and ensuring accurate and timely payment to all employees. The Senior Payroll Officer will work closely with the HR department to ensure compliance with payroll regulations and resolve any payroll discrepancies. Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage end-to-end payroll process ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payment
    • Compile and maintain payroll data including leaves, deductions, and overtime
    • Process and reconcile payroll transactions using Sage 300 software
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant payroll regulations
    • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding their pay
    • Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required
    • Liaise with HR department to update and maintain employee data in the payroll system
    • Calculate and process statutory payments such as taxes, benefits, and pensions
    • Stay updated with changes in payroll regulations and inform the management of any necessary adjustments
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
    • Assist in the preparation of year-end payroll reports and regulatory filings
    • Oversee the drafting of employee exit documentation (UIF, provident fund, service certificate)
    • Monthly Payroll reporting

    Requirements:

    • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing using Sage 300 software
    • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor compliance
    • Proven experience in managing end-to-end payroll processes for a large organization
    • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze numerical data accurately
    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or other relevant certification
