Relevant Tertiary Qualification preferably in Engineering (B.Eng /B.Sc. (Eng) / B Tech in Electrical Engineering)
Registered Pr Eng or registered Pr Eng Tech with ECSA
Valid Code B or EB driver’s licence
A minimum of 5 – to 8 years post qualification experience in the day-to-day management and engineering of a real-time SCADA/ADMS system for running operations in a HV and distribution Network Control Centre.
High degree of computer literacy.
Linux and MS Server experience.
Must have computer programming experience.
Must have SCADA related communication protocol experience such as IEC 101/104, DNP3 and ICCP.
Key Performance Areas
Management and maintenance of current ADMS.
Ensuring that the engineering standards and procedures are documented and complied with.
Manage the Thin Client implementation.
Design and engineer applications, reports and pictures in the SCADA system required by Thin Client users.
Manage the formulation of tenders and execution of SCADA/ADMS support contracts.
Configuration of the Utility Data Warehouse and reporting tools.
Fully understanding the principles of extracting data from Postgres and the Avanti databases.
Remaining current in developments and aspects of the ADMS applications.
Provision of data engineering staff management and development.
Developing, drafting and supervising engineering processes, policies, best practices, procedures, and ensuring compliance thereof.
