    Senior Project Manager, Solutions

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Post Graduate Diploma  Project Management, (B-Com Project Management) and foundational level certification in either Prince2 or PMBoK, and ProSCI practitioner (or equivalent certification) is required. 
    • Advanced computer Literacy level in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
    • Microsoft Visi(advanced)
    • Microsoft Project (advanced)
    • Excel (advanced)
    • Project Portfolimanagement software (such as Clarity, PPO, etc.)

    Job Related Requirements

    • Project Management experience: >/= 8 years in logistics environment, supply chain management; including WMS implementation;
    • Global Experience: >5 years experience in managing project teams and experience with regard tmanaging local & global executive stakeholders
    • Warehouse and Operational Management experience: > 3 years with demonstrated knowledge of best practices
    • Leadership experience in Project or Operations role: > 5 years with effective staff performance management & development
    • Facilitation skills: > 5 years effective experience in leading & influencing a diverse group through planning and/or problem solving activities for effective outcomes
    • Financial: > 3 years effective experience in developing budgets & managing actual versus budget, including CAPEX, OPEX and P&L’s
    • Contractual: > 3 years’ experience in directly supporting contract and service level development and negotiations with clients and vendors
    • Unendorsed license & own transport
    • Ability ttravel around Gauteng, South Africa & International
    • Excellent written & verbal communications skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills & able twork in a collaborative & team-based environment
    • Ability temploy effective problem-solving abilities
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Detail oriented, high work rate & quality of work

    Main purpose of the role

    • This role is responsible for delivering assigned projects on time, on budget and within the agreed scope and quality levels within the DSV governance framework. Tdthis, the role has tinterface with all project stakeholders. The PM works closely with internal/external clients tconsult on client requirements, expectation management, risk and issue management, change management.
    • This role directly supports company objectives and contributes tidentifying, analyzing & developing value-adding and robust solutions for current & prospective customers.
    • It is vital for the success of this position for the candidate teffectively align customer needs and solutions, with DSV values, policies and strategy tdirectly support sustainable and profitable business.
    • Successful collaboration with Global IT, Operations teams, contractors, & other internal and external stakeholders is critical

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Activity and resour ce planni n g : m a king a f easible plan that a c hiev es the goa ls and objectives of the project and align s with the organization’s overall busines s strategy. Part of the plan is defining the project’s scope and determining what resources are available, estimati ng time a n d fin a ncial cmmitment, as well a s how to monitor and report on the project’s progress , identify and manage project dependencies .
    • Manage Project Execut in Manage Projects tcomplete on time and on budget . Coordinates completion and transition betwe en phases, tasks and teams
    • As sembling and Leading Project Team: assign ing tasks and deadlines, util izing tols tcollaborate
    • Schedule and faci litation of r egular meetings tobtain st atus updat es an d chart p rogress, reallocate resources to balance workload s and t evaluate competenc ies and capabilities of team members.     • Time Manage ment: def ine, schedule and accurately esti m ate the task d uration tde velop a nd maintain a realistic schedule
    • Cost estimating and developing the budget : Develop the b ud get for proper fundin g, and mainta in actual spend versus approved budget
    • Quality and Satisfacti on: Deliver s atisfying results t sta keholders, keep constan t commu nication
    • Change M anag ement : Ensure Change management is integrated intprject managemen t by planning
    • cha nge management at t he same time as projec t planning and delivering chan ge managem ent a ccording to schedule
    • Risks a nd I ssues Mana gement: Appl y sound risk management princ iples tall aspects of projects & engineering activities tensure al l risk factrs are avoided, mitiga ted and/r managed in the best interests of DSV busi ness, clie nts a nd staff. Object ive of this i s al stredu ce the time a nd cost of project execution.
    • Management of Issues through the proper DSV Project governance and es calation protoc ols
    • Monitoring Prgress: Monitor and an alyze both expenditures and te am perform ance and tal ways efficiently ta k e crr ective m easures
    • Esca lat ion Management : Timely escalat ions of project issues/challenges texecutive sponsor.
    • Reportin g and Documentation: Rep orting on p rojects according tt he defined struct ures and project man agement method
    • Stakeholder Management: Tdevelop and maintain s ound st akeholder (incl . rela t ionships based on competence , respect and trust
    • Contractual Support contract develpment and/r negotiation w ith cli ents and suppliers;
    • Procurement Manag ement Support supplier selection and management aligned with sund eth ical business practice an d DSV Policy;
    • Project Steering C ommittee Meetings: Prepare for a nd facilitate project steering commi ttee meetings.
    • Project Framework and Governance: Ensure use of disciplined, officially sanctioned DSV project management pr ocesses
    • Travel: Reasonable local and inte rnatinal t ravel requirement tuse knowle dge, skills a nd experience in support of relevant DSV business objectiv es.
