Senior Quantity Surveyor at YoHome Africa

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will oversee company commercial functions, compliance and policy and procedure development to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.

YoHome currently has over 600 units under development.

Job Description:

• Manage the Commercial function.
• Decide on the appropriate procurement strategy for the Projects.
• Ensure profitability targets are achieved through sound commercial management strategies and processes.
• Analyze legal risk at tender stage and pre-award negotiations.
• Determines and administers contractual agreements with clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Prepares and submits contractual and insurance claims as required.
• Engage and commercially manage sub-contractors and consultants.
• Manage contract award and contract administration of sub-contractor and consultants.
• Manage contractual dispute resolution processes with suppliers, contractors and consultants.
• Manage the administration and due approvals of contract/purchase order scope of work/supply changes and commercial claims.
• Ability to work on multiple projects.
• Ensuring accurate and timeous project cashflow projections, cost reporting and weekly costing.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Quantitative Surveying or related area or 10 working experience in a similar role.
• Strong commercial experience in the construction industry.
• 5 years of experience in managing a commercial team.
