Senior Registrar (Medical) (Cardiology) (Groote Schuur Hospital at SADOCS

REQUIREMENTS :

• Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist.
• Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist (Independent Practice).
• Inherent requirements of the job: Commuted overtime is compulsory.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

• Clinical Skills required of a Medical Specialist Physician (e.g. Assessment, diagnosis and treatment in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency contexts). Knowledge appropriate for approach to investigations of common cardiovascular disorders. Communication including report generation, letter writing, consultation. Effective and efficient administration. Facilitation of management system.

DUTIES : (key result areas/outputs): -

• Clinical Service Provision. Clinical Governance and Administration.
• Teaching and Training/Supervision of Junior Staff.
• Research for fulfilment of the MPhil Degree.
