    Senior Research Executive

    Description

    • We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated and passionate individual to join our South African team as a Senior Research Executive to be based in our Durban (Umhlanga) office.
    • MMR is an independent, global consumer and sensory research agency specialising in food, drink, personal and household care research. This means that when you join us, you’ll have the chance to work with a number of well-known brands to help create, shape and develop products and packs.

    Role

    As a Senior Research Executive, you will take the lead on running market research projects, involving client liaison and project management from preparing proposals around a specific research design through to final debrief presentations. Responsibilities include:

    • Designing and organising fieldwork across Africa, including attendance and qualitative interviews
    • Creating questionnaires against client objectives
    • Analysing data (both quantitatively and qualitatively)
    • Creating insightful, story-led presentations and supporting reports in PPT

    The work covers a range of ad hoc projects, typically involving quantitative and qualitative research, and both traditional and online fieldwork in the RSA, but also across Africa and internationally. With MMR’s focus on developing new and better research methods and sophisticated analysis techniques, the role offers the opportunity to gain experience of several novel and exciting approaches to conducting research and interpreting data.

    Requirements

    Skills and Qualities

    • Previous experience within an ad-hoc agency environment essential

    • Quantitative experience is essential and exposure to qualitative beneficial

    • The ability to tell a story from the data is essential and turn into an engaging client report/presentation

    • Strong organisational & time management skills required

    • Strong communication skills & the ability to work effectively as a team essential

    • Experience working in a regional (ideally Africa) role is an advantage

    • Depth of experience in research project management with sensory science experience is an advantage

    • Willingness to travel across Africa (and globally) to observe and conduct fieldwork essential

    • Local African languages would be a bonus!
