Senior Risk Manager at PEP

To set strategy for the Sales Risk function, mitigate operational risk by providing specialised leadership, adhere to internal auditing direction and ensure compliance to legislative requirements within the stores. This position will form part of the Sales Management Team and report to the Chief Executive of Sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• People management and leadership (remote team leadership)
• Risk analysis, and reporting
• Engaging and liaising with external auditors
• Optimising resource planning (Risk Admin Managers and Risk Controller function, Risk Analysts and the Risk Auditors function)
• Interface to field senior management, central finance function and to PEPKOR internal audit team
• Optimise risk processes, systems and methodologies in accordance with best practices, centralised policies and cost-effective requirements
• Evaluate and optimise risk mitigation
• Mitigation of stock losses/shrinkage
• Keep abreast of global risk management trends
• Ad hoc duties

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate e.g B.Com, with Financial and Commercial subjects 
• Audit experience and qualification (will be advantageous)
• 5 - 8 years senior management experience in a medium to large organization
• Retail experience will be advantageous
• Exposure to POS (point of sale)and related retail systems and an understanding of integration into central systems
• Health & Safety regulations; knowledge and experience
• Understanding of the SA, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia & Eswatini regulatory environment
• Computer Literacy Google suite, MS Office
• Willingness to travel extensively
