Senior Software Developer - Cape Town at Games Global

JOB DESCRIPTION
If you have an excellent understanding and solid foundational knowledge of OOP, then this role is for you!

• We are looking for an experienced Senior Game Engine Developer to lead and drive technical development of our Lume team. Work in a highly skilled team focused on building and maintaining our in-house game engine and renderer, as well as maintaining our suite of modern game engine tools and integrations.

What you'll do 

• Maintain and develop our in house engine, renderer and game integrations
• Build and develop tools in which game studios will use in building games
• Modernise and optimise to remain on the cutting edge
• Offer support and build feature demos
• Write clean, modular, and efficient code for game engine components, tools, and integrations, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability.
• Coach and mentor junior developers at par with internal development standards.
• Collaborate with our game studios and work on our exciting inhouse game engine.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for Devs with

• 5 years of intensive Object-oriented programming experience.
• Typescript
• Atleast 2 years as a senior level developer with mentoring and coaching experience.
• Hands on experience in performance profiling and optimization techniques for real-time applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Big plus if you have 

• Familiarity with popular game development frameworks and libraries like Phaser, Three.js, or Pixi.js.
• Experience in using other game editors such as Unity, Unreal, or similar
• Familiarity with web based profiling and debugging
• Experience in developing or maintaining game engines
