Software Engineer

The primary purpose of the Software Developer role is to create and build maintainable, reliable software that adheres to client and design specifications, in accordance with the project plan, and meets performance and quality standards. A senior software Developer is also responsible for system design and architecture, and building the capabilities of less experienced developers through coaching and mentoring.  

Key Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, support & enhancements of existing systems.
• Adheres to and drives team adherence to development processes.
• Partakes and drives participation in SCRUM processes.
• Analyses, architects and develops new products/features.
• Conducts code reviews, systems and unit testing.
• Compiles and maintains technical documentation.
• Coaches and mentors other developers.
• Owns technical relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensures good communication and escalation practices are adhered to.

Skills, know-how and experience:   

Must have:  

• 5+ years’ software development experience.
• System design and architecture experience.
• Development team leadership experience or Technical coaching and mentoring skills.
• Advanced programming skills:  C#.Net, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Basic project management skills.

Preferred:  

• Programming skills in React, Angular.js, jQuery, VB6
• Docker, AWS experience advantageous
• Thorough understanding of Sage Intelligence System Components
• Commercial business/Financial systems experience.

Technical / professional qualifications:

• Degree: BSc Comp Sci/Eng or equivalent
