The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join us in Cape Town, South Africa. In this role, you will partner with Red Hat's account executives to achieve sales attainment goals through technical leadership both internally and with your customers. You'll be expected to handle introductory-level discussions for all of our solutions with the ability to learn deeper architectural and technical details in key areas to your account base. You will participate in the discovery of business and technical challenges to solve problems by mapping them to Red Hat's solutions. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will serve as the presales technical lead for your customers by architecting solutions and coordinating the efforts of additional Red Hat associates to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction. You'll need to have excellent communication and people skills, technical expertise, passion for open source, and a thorough understanding of business processes.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Sales and Technical Delivery teams to bring our customers the best solutions from across Red Hat's cloud infrastructure solutions portfolio, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and Red Hat Identity Manager
Discover and analyze customer business and technical problems and suggest the appropriate Red Hat solutions that meet their needs
Contribute to new sales pipeline identification and quantification of opportunities and capture those in customer relationship management (CRM)
Provide presales technical support for the development and implementation of complex offerings and solutions
Use your deep knowledge of our offerings to provide technical expertise to sales associates and customers through sales presentations and demonstrations and prepare detailed proposals
Develop relationships with key customers
Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data; run and support technical enablement events
Arrange and undertake speaking engagements at industry conferences, partner events, and user groups
Required Skills
Extensive experience working in sales engineering, consulting, IT architecture, or equivalent supporting enterprise accounts
Excellent communication and presentation skills with a record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels
Ability to interpret customer business problems and technical issues and effectively explain how a solution will align to customer needs or requirements
Knowledge of and skills with infrastructure and cloud solutions from Red Hat, the open source community or competitors, ideally Linux, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Virtualization, and Ansible
Experience with emerging technologies like public or private cloud, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Services (PaaS), Linux containers, container orchestration and management, automation and configuration management, DevOps, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), or modern application frameworks
Fluent verbal and written language skills in English
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications are a plus
Experience with Linux and UNIX system administration is a plus
