Senior Specialist: Product Designer at MultiChoice

Purpose of the Position

To assist with the growth of our Digital Channels in terms of user experience and customer acquisition in order to align with the broader Digital Strategy. Oversee the implementation of user experience based on market requirements and input from the digital and business Product Owners across all digital.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee user experience design, usability, UX testing and journey mapping.
• Champion a consumer experience first approach on all digital platforms.
• Constantly revise and communicate the vision in order to keep the business’s product relevant and engaging to the consumers.
• Translate customer requirements into digital channels insights.
• Continuously evaluates set target setting principles and establishes new principles when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout all digital and e-commerce channels.
• Foster a culture of design-driven product development and user experience innovation in order to Improve the user experience across all digital and e-commerce channels.
• Visualize the best-in-class user experience and digital solutions, especially in the form of wireframes and high-fidelity designs.
• Design and create features and functionality according to the user feedback aligned to product prioritization.
• Develop effective and well-branded user experience throughout multiple online properties to drive innovation across user-centered Design practice.
• Prepare and implement plans for across platforms to assist customer-facing self-service and recommend best approaches for implementation of user experience.
• Communicate with internal partners such as developers, data & insights and product owners.

Stakeholder and Product Owner Relations

• Provide specialized and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Engage to relevant stakeholders and present solutions (wireframe, mock-ups, systems and technology and user experience journeys)
• Ensure that communication of the product and departmental progress is delivered to the stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Equivalent NQF Level 7 Qualification in Technology, Marketing, Design, Graphic Design and/or Psychology
• Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 5-8 years of professional experience in a product design team: Digital enablement / self-service / e-commerce
• A strong track record of collaboration with cross-functional team
• Exceptional communication skills for conveying design concepts and roadmaps
• Ability to conduct, interpret, and present qualitative and quantitative feedback and research
• Experience in data-driven decision making including planning and execution
• A well-rounded product design portfolio with result-driven case studies
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Previous or current experience working on a transactional or self-service channels would be an advantage
• Experience in Figma, Figjam, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, CSS and HTML5
