    Senior Finance Analyst Reporting: General Entertainment

    Purpose of the Position

    Support the Finance manager: Reporting in financial reporting and financial planning and analysis functions. Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of all GE & M-Net Financial reporting, management reporting, budgets and forecasts.

    Financial Planning & Analysis

    • Facilitation of GE budget and forecast planning cycles
    • Perform analysis and provide commentary on month-end variances against budgets, forecasts and prior years
    • Consolidate GE cluster budget and forecast submissions for Exco & Group reporting
    • Preparation and analysis of monthly rolling forecasts for Group submission
    • Extract, combine and summarise data to analyse the financial impact of new initiatives and effectively communicating key findings to senior leadership to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions
    • Developing metrics and reports to provide monitoring for new initiatives
    • Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve bottom line business performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented

    Financial Reporting

    • Prepare month end reporting packs for Exco and Group reporting

    • Consult with the Shared Services and auditors to prepare and assist with internal and statutory audits.
    • Responsible for driving discussions with Shared Services team to address system and process issues.
    • Review related month-end calculations as well as entries for programming revenue, intercompany transactions, and provisions.
    • Prepare monthly content and hedge accounting journals
    • Prepare monthly balance sheet blackline reconciliations for content accounts

    Qualifications

    Senior Specialist: Product Designer

    Purpose of the Position

    To assist with the growth of our Digital Channels in terms of user experience and customer acquisition in order to align with the broader Digital Strategy. Oversee the implementation of user experience based on market requirements and input from the digital and business Product Owners across all digital.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Oversee user experience design, usability, UX testing and journey mapping.
    • Champion a consumer experience first approach on all digital platforms.

    Central Accountant

    Purpose of the Position: 

    Recording Journals, Performing Reconciliation and Producing Reports

    Controls, Governance & Policies

    • Responsible for the development/creation, implementation and maintenance of system of robust controls, procedures and policies

    Inventory Controller

    Purpose of the Position

    To Assist in plotting title life cycles for all movie channels and maintain updates on the Master Inventory.
    Ensure all titles on the master and monthly inventory is administered closely.
    Update outstanding information on Movies inventory with all Stakeholders, both internal & external.

    Tasks

    Master Inventory Management

    • Following through on acquisitions processes by checking for titles executed on the New Deals Document and Synergy License Reports in conjunction with Content Coordinators.
    • Assist in plotting and planning titles to be scheduled for movies channels and festivals
    • Ensure movie block schedules are created for third-party channels scheduling movie titles and runs are allocated accordingly
    • Assist in libraries/re-licenses selection process by reviewing ratings data to identify title performance and checking PGA ratings
    • Detailed Inventory Analysis to identify content. Assist in plotting and planning titles. Apply SOP in terms of windows and run allocation.
    • Optimize Inventory and minimize unused inventory.
    • Ensure all titles are graded as per Optimisation Tool

    Inventory Administration

    • Ensure metadata for all executed titles that form part of the master and monthly inventory is accurately updated.
    • Ensure that there is no duplication of title that appear on third-party channels, unless otherwise cleared.
    • Ensure Monthly inventory includes suitable balance of strong and filler titles for all movie channels based on Research Data.
    • Content management for festivals and pop-ups (i.e. Blackout Period, Windowing)
    • Meet Monthly Inventory deadlines as per SOP. Distribute Monthly Inventory to all stakeholders - TBA titles and outstanding metadata to be cleared 9 days before TX.
    • Ensure runs are available for titles across all servicing channels.
    • Re-work windows to accommodate changing 3rd party channel and Pop-up needs.
    • Assign replacement titles for Africa-Write-off titles

    Inventory TBA’s

    • Escalate any concerns to Acquisitions Manager timeously for resolution.

    Special Projects

    • Display deeper understanding of the ratings document and provide insights to improve Inventory Management and Windowing

    Qualifications Essential

    • A Diploma/ Degree in Marketing/Business Management/Media Studies/ Film and Television

    Experience

    • A minimum of 5 years of programme scheduling experience
    • Knowledge of movies content is essential

    VOD Coordinator (FTC)

    Purpose of the Position:

    To accurately plan & schedule Catch Up, co-ordinate Trailers and the correct version of content consistently, to VOD Operations to publish on time on all the various VOD platforms and bouquets.

    Key Performance Objectives

    Tasks

    Deal Memo Loading

    • Create Third Party Deal Memo Licenses in Synergy
    • Consolidate all schedules into an inventory list which is distributed to, and used by, cross departmental stakeholders
    • Flag content in EPGenius to allow for Third Party VOD License creation
    • Update programme metadata information (genre, Media ID, Episode Title) in Synergy for each episode
    • Update highlights document with Catch Up availability for use by marketing and content discovery teams

    Content Planning

    • Plan content per platform per bouquet, 2 months in advance for Scheduling and Sales purposes
    • Ensure that all channels (Group and Third Party) submit content avails for content planning
    • Conduct due diligence and mitigate operational risks

    Catch Up Scheduling

    • Accurately schedule all content on selection list, according to monthly deadlines, with the correct dates and times for all platforms and bouquets using the synergy catch-up module
    • Schedule all notifications accurately and on time on the Short form VOD scheduling module
    • Ensure that the metadata in the VOD tab is correct and in accordance with catch-up requirements
    • Quality check schedule to ensure there are no errors
    • Send emails to all stakeholders and release, on synergy, a complete schedule, 6 weeks before Transmission (TX)
    • Track linear schedule changes and implement any changes that affect catch-up on the catch-up schedule
    • Release any schedule updates as and when necessary and email the updated schedule to all stakeholders specifying the changes made on the body of the email

    Trailer Scheduling

    • Use the trailer workflows, as per SOPs, to ensure trailer availability
    • Schedule all trailers within 48hrs of availability
    • Liaise with channel marketing regarding content on schedule grid without promo information

    Stakeholder Management

    • Liaise and work closely as per relevant SOPs with Multichoice Content, M-Net Channels, Media Traffic, Media Processing and BTD VOD Ops to ensure effective communication and harmonious working relations exist
    • Ensure efficient and effective daily communication with all stakeholders

    Reporting, Controls and Process Implementation

    • Scrutinise the 7-day metadata report to ensure metadata is released 7days before TX
    • Make use of the 3-day report and resolve any outstanding issues within 2hours of receipt
    • On request and on an ad-hoc basis assist in any other relevant Catch-Up related undertakings that will help ensure a 97% content availability on all devices
    • Adhere to the new Media Operations workflows as well as effective use of the Synergy Tools to ensure smooth end-to end Catch Up operations
    • Ensure ongoing refinement of processes to drive the Project Gold objective

    Qualifications Essential

    • A National Diploma or degree in Business Management/Broadcast/Media Studies or equivalent NQF Level 5 qualification

    Experience

    • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in broadcast or similar position
